Winter twilight

  1. Jerome: that's amazing. I've followed >70 larvae in the wild during the last three winters. None has moved at all whilst in hibernation on a silk pad, though in mild weather they will wave their heads around if disturbed. Was this larva actually crawling?

  2. Yes, it moved from one bud to this branch scar (5 cm apart) in less than 15 min.
