Sallow in Leaf in Dorset


This could have very bad consequences if colder weather now suddenly appears. Matthew, are any trees in leaf in the relevant forests?

That's nothing. There's a habitually early male sallow (a caprea-type hybrid) on the A 419 on the edge of Swindon, just north of the Honda works, which was almost in full bloom on New Year's Day! That's early, even by its standards. Of course, its wasting its pollen, though there is another early male tree further down that road...
