From Ashley Whitlock
I thought I would visit Havant Thicket today on the off chance the
Emperor has survived into August in Hampshire and Im pleased to say it
has, I saw one male on Territory at Horsefoot Hill at 1310.he was a put
off by the breeze in the canopy, and flew around once or twice, and when
he settled he looked sort of uncomfortable.
He flew off at 1330,
heading south, and he never returned to his perch, I suspect he was
going to a better more sheltered spot, as it was really hot and very
windy at times. Alook around produced a handful of Silver-Washed
Fritillaries but no White Admirals.
