The first iris of the year, illuminating a damp, windy and very dull day - hardly good photography conditions, nonetheless one is duty-bound to visit.
This next one was hiding in a rain drop, and matching the colours of its background perfectly (the twig was waving around in the wind) -
The good news is that no losses occurred during December (to predation), though the sample size is very small.
My personal ambition for the year is to get to grips with Herself...

Great so see you found some of the little ones, that's definitely a true kick off ;) I also tried my luck yesterday finding caterpillars of A. iris and eggs of the White-letter Hairstreak. But this time I only got cold and wet feet.
