another poor egg laying year?

2015 was bad enough, but, in Upper Thames so far, 2016 is even worse. Only three larvae found in several woods in eight hours of searching. I will be interested to hear from other regions on this topic.

I have hardly started searching yet... Adult numbers were 50% down on 2015, though the females were more active (we hardly saw any last year) and the foliage was in better condition this egg-laying season...

it is now still 3 larvae in 10 hours of searching; I am beginning to despair!
