After what I have been reading from Sussex, I am almost ashamed to submit anything to the blog!
Upper Thames is very poor so far: I have only received about a dozen sightings from the many iris woods in this region. Nevertheless, here are two photos of a female iris sunning herself in early evening in Finemere Wood today: I must admit that it is one of my home bred specimens.
The two photos were taken from slightly different angles and it is interesting to note the difference in the colouration.
