Today was too cool, cloudy and windy for Purple Emperors, though a few brave and faithful souls ventured out. Tomorrow doesn't sound that much better. This inclement weather is, of course, generated by the annual National Moth Night weekend which nearly always produces poor weather...

Tip.  In windy weather GO LEEWARD: Emperors hate wind and gather on the sheltered side of wood edges, even if that means they are out of the sun. In a west wind, search the east-facing edges...
