Fermyn starts with a splutter

4 Hours around the woods from 10.30 yielded 2 Emperors.  Both in Souther Wood and both coming out of swallows and up and over the canopy during breaks in the clouds. Not the most robust of starts for the season but a start nonetheless.  A quick look in at Glapthorn on the way back to the Fen was rewarded with a fine Black Hairstreak drunkenly heaving itself around the blossom, earlier in the day 7 had been counted here still.
