Vigils in three of the top male territories here during sunny spells produced no sightings. He is probably not out here yet.
A dearth - not just of butterflies - here but of insect life in general, especially up in the canopy. His Imperial Majesty may prove unusually inactive this season - assuming he emerges in any numbers - due to the paucity of insects flying around up top, to invade his airspace and give him something to launch at.
The forecast for the coming week is also extremely poor, though with the prospect of a weak ridge of high pressure coming over on Thurs (but of course it could come over during the night).
